This is a wonderfully written and provocative review.

This is a test post. If this was a real post it would say something.
My trusty old Canon G7 has developed a smudge on the sensor, which will unfortunately necessitate the purchase of a new pocket camera sooner than I had hoped. Like many shooters out there, I have become obsessed with some of the new camera debuts, especially with the Olympus EP-1, which seems like it might answers a few of my prayers.(I do like the 4/3 ratio and wider angle of the Olympus, though!)
(Admin’s note: click on pic for full size. Images are large, so allow time for them to appear on your screen.)
The one on top is the Olympus, the bottom is the G7.
The upshot is, in decent light, I think the G7 compares favorably, considering the EP-1′s larger sensor. If you enlarge the bridge stones or “The Watchtower” building at 300% each, both pics look amazingly similar. So, for now, my EP-1 lust has abated a little, and I’ll wait on the sidelines a little while longer to see what else comes along this year.
Since I first posted this, an interesting review about the EP- at the The Online Photographer has appeared. Well worth reading.
We hope to do a more intensive hands-on review of the EP-1 and the Panasonic GH-1 as soon as we get our hot little hands on them.
For pixel peepers, a bunch of EP-1 vs G7 crops are here on our “Views and Reviews” page.
